Six Local Teens Needed for Disney's High School Musical

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Liberty Central School

Although all the principal roles in Disney's High School Musical will be performed by our resident professional company of actors, the Forestburgh Playhouse is seeking approximately 6 very talented local teens, aged 14 - 18, to appear in the show as part of the Wildcat ensemble.  This is a great opportunity not only to appear in HSM, but also to work with professional actors in a professional environment.  The local audition will be held on Saturday, May 9 from 10 AM - 2 PM at Liberty Central School, on Buckley Street in Liberty, NY.

Auditions are held on a first come, first served basis.  Those auditioning will sign in, and be seen one by one.  The audition itself will probably only take about 3 minutes.  Actors should prepare a song to sing.  An accompanist will be provided.

Local Audition for Adults and Children Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Playhouse

Local auditions will be held at the Playhouse at 39 Forestburgh Road in Forestburgh on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 10 AM to 12 noon.  We are principally looking for children aged 8 - 12 for roles in Les Misérables and Showboat.  We are especially seeking African American children for Showboat, and a talented young singing actor aged about 12 of any race for the role of Gavroche in Les Misérables .  Character actors capable of playing roles in the 30-60 age range are also being sought.  Singing may or may not be required.  More information about local actors appears on our Local Actor Page.

Auditions are held on a first come, first served basis.  Those auditioning will sign in, and be seen one by one.  The audition itself will probably only take about 3 minutes.  Actors should prepare a song to sing.  An accompanist will be provided.

• Strawhat Auditions in New York March 19 - 21, 2009

Equity Principal and Chorus Call Auditions

The Forestburgh Playhouse operates under an LOA agreement with reference to COST.  Contracts include weekly salary, housing, meals, transportation from NYC, and pension and health benefits.  The Equity Principal Auditions and the Chorus Call for the Forestburgh Playhouse will be held at the Actors' Equity Studios, 165 W. 46th Street in New York City.  This information is also available on  Actors' Equity Website.
